How do I set Google Scholar to link UT Dallas Libraries to my article searches?

Answer

If you have a Google account, it is possible to link UT Dallas Libraries in your preferences so that your article searches in Google Scholar will determine which results are freely available to you as UTD students, staff and faculty.

1) After logging in to Google, go to the Google Scholar homepage and click the three-lined Menu button on the far left. Click Settings.

2) Next, Click "Library links" in the settings menu. Search for the "University of Texas at Dallas," check the box next to the suggested library, then click Save.

As you search for articles in Google Scholar, you should now find a "GET IT @ UTD" link to the right of each result that UT Dallas owns access to. Click there to be directed to your free student access.

For those that are not accessible through your Library, request through Interlibrary Loan to avoid paywalls.
