Q. What equipment and services are available to library visitors with disabilities?

Answer

The library endeavors to keep open doors between public spaces, and automated doors at the entrances to the building. Passageways should be the ADA-recommended minimum width of 36 inches. Elevators are available, and all service desk staff is happy to escort library visitors within the building as needed.

Users with mobility challenges are encouraged to place a request on materials or call (972) 883-2953 to arrange for staff retrieval of books and other resources.

The library's Accessibility equipment, like text magnifiers and braille keyboards, and software like JAWS text-to-speech and Dragonspeak, is now located in the Multimedia Services room (MC 2.408). Please visit this guide to review the terms of use and equipment / software included in this room.

For more information about accessibility accommodations at UT Dallas, please visit the Office of Student AccessAbility (OSA) webpage, call (972) 883-2098, or visit in person at the Student Services Building - Room 3.200.
