What equipment and services are available to Library visitors with disabilities?

Answer

Spaces

The Library endeavors to keep open doors between public spaces, and automated doors at the entrances to the building. Passageways should be the ADA-recommended minimum width of 36 inches. Elevators are available, and all service desk staff is happy to escort Library visitors within the building as needed.

Users with mobility challenges are encouraged to place a materials retrieval request or call (972) 883-2953 to arrange for staff retrieval of books and other resources.

Equipment

Equipment like text magnifiers and braille keyboards, and software like JAWS text-to-speech is located in the Library's Accessibility Equipment Room, 2.520. Please visit our Accessibility Service Policy page to review the terms of use and equipment / software included in this room.

Your feedback is important. Please use our suggestions form to tell us how we can improve!
