What is an academic hold?

An academic hold may be placed on your record by various UT Dallas departments, for a number of reasons.
At the Library, a hold will be placed when a fine balance has exceeded $1.00. A hold prevents students and staff from borrowing from the library again until the balance is paid below $1.00. Additionally, it is not possible to register for classes or obtain a transcript until the hold has been removed.
