Q. Why is the Interlibrary Loan log in page sending me back to the library homepage?

Answer

McDermott Library has identified a recurring issue affecting some Interlibrary Loan (ILL) users as they attempt to log in to their accounts.

Description of the problem:

The user clicks the green "Access Interlibrary Loan" button on this page. After entering a NetID and password on the subsequent credentials page, the user is returned to the library homepage instead of their ILL account. This behavior then repeats itself with each log in attempt.

Solutions:

1) The most simple, albeit temporary solution is to try another internet browser. If you're a Chrome user, try opening Mozilla Firefox or Safari and log in to ILL there.

2) Many have resolved this issue by deleting their full internet browser history/cache (an option listed under "History" or "Privacy & Security" sections in most browser Settings menus). Clear all, then close and reopen the browser to try logging in again. Do not choose this option if you prefer to keep your internet history to easily return to visited pages, to remember passwords, etc.

3) Request Interlibrary Loan via telephone: 972-883-2900 or email: ill@utdallas.edu
