What do I do if I have lost a book or other library item?

Answer

If you suspect that you have lost an item you borrowed from UTD Libraries, the first thing to do is check your home or vehicle, and retrace your steps. Fortunately, books that were thought to have been lost are often found in couches and under seats after a careful second search!

If the item cannot be found - or if you have damaged an item - inform the Access Services department by emailing circ@utdallas.edu, calling (972) 883-2953, or visiting the Service Desk on the 2nd floor.

In addition to the cost of replacing the item, the borrower will be assessed a $25 processing fee as well as any existing overdue fines. Damaged items will not be returned to patrons, and replacement copies will not be accepted.
