What are Course Reserves and how do I find them?

Answer

Course Reserves are required readings that the Library makes available to students at the request of a course instructor. Materials in print may be borrowed from the Services Desk on the 2nd floor, while electronic materials are accessed through a link your professor posts in eLearning.

Course Reserve materials in Print can be found by searching on our website:

Go to the Library homepage and choose Course Reserves from the Find Materials menu.

The next page will give you more information about the Course Reserves services.  Click Search Course Reserves to start a search.

You can enter a specific book title here, your instructor's last name or the course code (e.g. MIS 6320) for a complete list of books, articles, etc.

Reserves that are available electronically have an "Available Online" link below the title information.

Print reserves will have a physical location listed under the title information.Image of a search result with course reserves location denoted after title information

Jot down the identifier/Call Number and head to the Services Desk to get the book.

*Most Reserves are 2-hour, in-Library use only. This means you will need to read the book in the library, and you cannot take it home. For books that you will need to use frequently during the semester, we recommend planning a regular time in your schedule to do your reading.*
