What do I do when my account is locked on a printer?

Answer

If you experience an error on the Library printers that says "User locked on terminal ##," this is the result of swiping your Comet Card on another machine without logging off the printer you originally used.

Solution:

  • Take note of the terminal number in the error message. The last number is the printer number (Example: if terminal 35, look for the printer with the number 5 on the front by the paper tray)
  • Swipe your Comet Card on this printer
  • Press Log off either on the touch screen where your print queue is shown or press the physical logout button on the far right of the button panel
