What is a "Smart Room?"

Answer

McDermott Library has eight Smart/Technology Rooms, offering currently enrolled UTD students a place to collaborate on presentations and class projects. Students can share content from their mobile devices, connect to a laptop, record/save/share video using Smart TVs, and annotate on the touch screen.

3rd floor study rooms located within the book stacks are available until 9:30 PM during the week (Sunday-Thursday) and until 7:30 PM on the weekend (Friday-Saturday).

3rd floor study rooms located outside of the book stacks and 2nd floor study rooms are open until 1:30 AM (Monday-Thursday) and until 7:30 PM on the weekend (Friday-Saturday).

Up to four-hour long reservations may be made a week in advance.

Keys & Smart Room Accessory kits can be checked out at the Circulation Services Desk. Please note that you will need to provide your physical Comet Card to check out study room keys. Whiteboard marker kits can also be checked out when checking out study room keys and are due back at the end of the study room booking.

A reservation does not grant access to the room without checking out a physical key at the Circulation Services Desk. All study room keys and accessories must be returned in person to a library staff member at the Circulation Services Desk at the end of the reservation.
