Can I recover my citations from RefWorks?

Answer

McDermott Library's subscription to the citation manager application RefWorks ended in September of 2019, leaving UTD students and faculty with a "Lite" version of RefWorks until access to the limited option ceased fully in July of 2021.

If you had citations in RefWorks that you were unable to transfer to another application before access to RefWorks Lite expired, it is still possible to recover your citations as long as you act before December 31, 2021.

To request recovery of RefWorks citation data:

1) Email refworks.support@exlibrisgroup.com. You must include your RefWorks user name and the email used for the account.

2) You will receive an RIS file from Ex Libris. This can be imported to your choice of citation management application.

3) Visit our Citation Resources guide for information about other options and how to import your citations to them.

McDermott Library cannot support the transfer process beyond what is contained in this guide.
