Why have I received an error when accessing Factiva?

Answer

Factiva is a real world product with a wealth of resources and content; its quality of content makes it expensive. The McDermott Library can only acquire access for six simultaneous users at a time.

You may encounter an error message, followed by a prompt to login with "corporate credentials" or a Factiva account, if you should access Factiva at a time when it is being used by the maximum capacity of UTD researchers - this is common during a semester's busiest times. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please retry in 30 minutes or so. You may also try accessing Factiva from another internet browser if you suspect that this may be a cache/cookie error instead.

Frequent user? Signing in through UT Dallas's VPN, GlobalProtect, can stabilize your off-campus connection to library electronic resources and expedite your login experience by eliminating the prompt for your NetID and password.

Enrolled UT Dallas students may also consider visiting the JSOM Finance Trading Lab website to request access to Capital IQ. It will have similar daily stock activity, current industry activity, and corporation peer comparisons based on recent stock activity.
