What are the limits for downloading articles from Nexis Uni? (Formerly known as Lexis Nexis)
I would like to download a large number of articles from Nexus for use in a project. How many articles can I get before I hit the limits and Nexus stops me?
Answer
The license agreements for library databases limit the amount and speed of downloading to prevent systematic and robotic harvesting of copyrighted material. It is important for users to stay within these limits to ensure that UTD continues to have access to these resources. In Nexus Uni, the limitations are:
- 2,500 full-text documents per day or within one hour per individual.
- Downloads of full-text are limited to 100 documents at a time. Users may download 100, then another 100, and so on until the 2,500 limit is reached.
- For lists of citations or search results, users may only select from the first 1,000 results.
