How do I get a book or article that the Library does not own?

Answer

In most cases, we recommend using Interlibrary Loan (ILL). This is a service that allows you to borrow materials that are not owned by McDermott Library. Through ILL, the Library obtains these materials for you from other libraries at no charge. All UT Dallas faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students are eligible to request books, articles, book chapters, dissertations, conference papers, microfilm, and other materials that one might find in a library, like videos and sheet music.

Visit the ILL FAQ page here for information or get started on an ILL request now!
